About The Position
TheKey is hiring experienced caregivers to provide one-to-one, in-home care to aging adults in Escondido and surrounding areas. Caregivers support clients with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. TheKey describes itself as the largest provider of private-pay in-home care for aging seniors in North America and emphasizes local team support, dignity and respect for employees, and quality of life for clients. The role offers full-time and part-time opportunities, weekday and weekend shifts, and daytime hours; the posting also says all shifts are currently being hired for. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour, with rates up to $23.00 per hour. A sign-on bonus of up to $750 is available. Qualified applicants may often begin working within 3–5 days after orientation. Requirements
- At least 6 months of professional caregiving experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- HCA registration with the State of California, including meeting state background requirements; TheKey can help obtain registration after hire.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle.
- TB clearance or chest X-ray.
- Must comply with state background screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Applicants must meet California fingerprint identification requirements; a conditional offer will be rescinded if the applicant has been convicted of a non-exemptible crime, in compliance with applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one assistance to clients in their homes.
- Assist with personal care, including dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.
- Perform light housekeeping, including basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Drive clients to appointments, run errands, and shop for groceries.
- Provide companionship and social and emotional support through activities such as games and puzzles.
