About The Position

TheKey is hiring experienced caregivers to provide one-on-one, in-home support to aging adults in San Marcos, California, and surrounding areas. Caregivers assist clients with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. The role offers pay rates of $20–$23 per hour, with full-time and part-time schedules available and hiring across all shifts. TheKey provides caregiver support, paid training, and career development opportunities. Qualified applicants may often begin work within 3–5 days after orientation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience.
• At least 18 years of age.
• California HCA Registration, including meeting state background requirements; TheKey can help obtain registration after hire.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle.
• TB clearance or chest X-ray.
• Must meet state background screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
• Applicants must complete timely, accurate positive fingerprint identification as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.
• Perform light housekeeping, including basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
• Drive clients to appointments and run errands, including grocery shopping.
• Provide companionship and social and emotional support through games, puzzles, and other activities.
