About The Position
TheKey is hiring caregivers to provide one-to-one, private-pay in-home care for aging adults. Caregivers support clients with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. The role offers shifts of 4–8 hours, with full-time and part-time schedules available and hiring across all shifts. Pay is listed at $20.00–$23.00 per hour, with a sign-on bonus of up to $750. Qualified caregivers may often begin working within 3–5 days after orientation. Applicants must meet state background screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States. In California, timely and accurate positive fingerprint identification is required as a condition of employment; conditional offers may be rescinded for non-exemptible convictions in accordance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- California HCA registration; TheKey can help obtain registration upon hire, subject to state background requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle.
- TB clearance or chest X-ray.
- Must comply with applicable state background screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
- California applicants must complete timely and accurate positive fingerprint identification as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.
- Provide light housekeeping, including basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Drive clients to appointments, run errands, and shop for groceries.
- Provide companionship through games, puzzles, and other activities offering social and emotional support.
