Exception Handling Specialist
About The Position
The Exception Handling Specialist performs a vital part of the patient care process by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored. The role involves recognizing when corrective action is needed and implementing effective solutions, while championing safety, compliance, and quality control. The position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and required personal protective equipment. The role has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees must maintain strict confidentiality, follow applicable privacy and security standards, and access PHI only as required to fulfill job duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
