About The Position

The Exception Dangerous Goods Specialist processes air shipments of Dangerous Goods and handles shipping exceptions originating at the no-read lane. The role also supports distribution center operations, including pallet preparation, staging, loading, and shipment documentation. The work takes place in a production environment and involves frequent physical activity and operating pallet-moving equipment.

Requirements

Dangerous Goods certification.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
High school diploma or GED.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Basic math and computer skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to perform work according to instructions and within a reasonable time.
At least one year of distribution center or quality experience.

Responsibilities

Accurately process fully regulated hazardous-material shipments.
Audit shipments diverted into express lanes.
Maintain Dangerous Goods filing and keep the work area compliant with 5S and safety requirements.
Ensure all Dangerous Goods shipments are completed by the end of the shift.
Correctly update and ship shipments originating at the no-read lane in a timely manner.
Correctly update and ship exceptions returned from carriers.
Maintain proper functioning of the print-and-apply machine.
Wrap pallets, record their weight, and stage them for loading.
Consolidate orders based on pick-slip number and order type for shipping or staging.
Drive a forklift or pallet jack to load and move pallets; load product into trailers.
Document the items and quantities on each pallet.
Wrap, label, and stage pallets on the dock.
Use pallet jacks to move full pallets into the staging area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
