About The Position

The Exception Dangerous Goods Specialist processes air shipments of dangerous goods and handles shipping exceptions originating at the no-read lane. The role also supports accurate shipment processing, pallet preparation and staging, and safe, organized distribution-center operations.

Requirements

Dangerous Goods certification.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
High school diploma or GED.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Basic math and computer skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to perform work according to instructions and within a reasonable time.
One year of distribution-center or quality experience.

Responsibilities

Accurately process fully regulated hazardous-material shipments.
Audit shipments diverted into the express lanes.
Maintain dangerous-goods filing and keep the work area compliant with 5S and safety standards.
Complete all dangerous-goods shipments by the end of the shift.
Correctly update and timely ship exceptions originating at the no-read lane.
Correctly update and ship exceptions returned from carriers.
Maintain the proper functioning of the print-and-apply machine.
Wrap pallets, record weights, and stage pallets for loading.
Consolidate orders based on pick-slip number and order type for shipping or staging.
Operate a forklift or pallet jack to load and move pallets, and load product into trailers.
Document the items and quantities on each pallet.
Wrap, label, and stage pallets on the dock.
Use pallet jacks to move full pallets into the staging area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
