About The Position

Catons Plumbing & Drain Service is hiring an Excavation Technician/Laborer to perform residential and commercial excavation work for sewer and water service repairs and replacements. The role resolves plumbing issues caused by compromised or broken plumbing lines. This is a commissioned, non-exempt position with an approximate salary range of $70,000–$90,000 per year.

Requirements

Hands-on experience in excavation projects in both residential and commercial construction settings.
Valid driver's license.
Current CDL or ability to obtain one within 90 days if required for the vehicle driven.
Proficiency navigating excavation environments, including confined spaces and trench operations.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Trenchless water, sewer, and gas experience.

Responsibilities

Prioritize safety by adhering to OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.
Interact with customers as needed.
Perform excavation tasks followed by pipe repairs or new pipe installations.
Operate backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials.
Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
Locate and arrive at job sites in a timely manner.
Safely drive and operate a service vehicle between job sites.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
