About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring an Excavation Technician/Laborer to perform residential and commercial excavations related to sewer and water service repairs or replacements. The role addresses plumbing problems caused by compromised or broken lines and includes excavation followed by pipe repairs or new pipe installation. Technicians operate excavation machinery, work in confined spaces and open trenches, travel between job sites in a service vehicle, and interact with customers, including entering their residences and collecting payment.

Requirements

Hands-on experience in residential and commercial excavation projects.
Valid driver's license.
Current CDL, or ability to obtain one within 90 days if required for the vehicle driven.
Proficiency working efficiently and effectively in excavation environments, including confined spaces and trenches.
Ability to complete jobs within specified timelines.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Trenchless water, sewer, and gas experience.

Responsibilities

Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.
Interact with customers as needed and provide trustworthy service in their homes.
Perform excavation tasks, pipe repairs, and new pipe installations.
Operate backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery to excavate and load loose materials.
Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
Locate and arrive at job sites promptly; safely drive and operate a service vehicle between job sites.
Collect customer payments and proceed to the next service call.
