About The Position

Roto-Rooter is seeking an Excavation Technician to perform residential and commercial excavations for sewer and water service repairs or replacements. The role focuses on resolving plumbing issues caused by compromised or broken plumbing lines. The technician operates excavation machinery, performs excavation work followed by pipe repairs or new installations, and travels between job sites in a service vehicle. The position requires working in both confined spaces and open trenches and following OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.

Requirements

Hands-on experience in excavation projects in residential and commercial construction settings.
A valid driver's license.
A current CDL, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days if required for the vehicle driven.
Proficiency in excavation environments, including confined spaces and trench operations.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet the demands of the position.

Trenchless water, sewer, and gas experience.

Responsibilities

Strictly follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.
Interact with customers as needed.
Perform residential and commercial excavation work, followed by pipe repairs or new pipe installations.
Operate backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials.
Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
Locate and arrive at job sites on time, and safely drive and operate a service vehicle between job sites.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
