About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring an Excavation Technician/Laborer for sewer and water service repairs and replacements through its Long Island, New York branch. The primary job-site areas are Queens and Nassau, New York. The role performs residential and commercial excavations to resolve plumbing issues caused by compromised or broken plumbing lines. The stated average first-year pay range is $50,000–$70,000. Requirements

Hands-on experience with excavation projects in residential and commercial construction settings.
Valid driver's license; a commercial driver's license may be required depending on the vehicle driven.
Proficiency working in excavation environments, including confined spaces and trenches.
Current CDL or ability to obtain one within 90 days if necessary for the vehicle driven.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.
Interact with customers as needed.
Perform excavations and then repair pipes or install new pipes.
Operate backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery to excavate and load loose materials.
Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
Locate and arrive at job sites in a timely manner.
Safely drive and operate a service vehicle between job sites.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
