About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring an Excavation Technician/Laborer to perform residential and commercial excavations related to sewer and water service repairs or replacements. The role involves resolving plumbing issues caused by compromised or broken plumbing lines through excavation, pipe repair, and new pipe installation. The position also includes operating excavation machinery, working in confined spaces and open trenches, interacting with customers, and safely driving a service vehicle between job sites. Flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends, is required to meet the demands of the position.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with excavation projects in residential and commercial construction settings.
Valid driver's license.
Depending on the vehicle driven, a commercial driver's license may be required; candidates must have a current CDL or be able to obtain one within 90 days if necessary.
Proficiency navigating excavation environments, including confined spaces and trench operations, efficiently and effectively.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet the demands of the position.

Responsibilities

Strictly follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.
Interact with customers as needed.
Perform excavation tasks, pipe repairs, and new pipe installations.
Operate backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials.
Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
Locate and arrive at job sites in a timely manner.
Safely drive and operate a service vehicle between job sites.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
