About The Position

Xanitos is seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) Manager for the 3rd shift at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The manager oversees Environmental Services associates under the direction of the Unit Director and serves as a liaison between hospital departments and Environmental Services to provide a high level of service. The role includes staffing and scheduling, assigning work, quality assurance, inventory and equipment oversight, staff training and development, and handling performance and disciplinary matters. The manager is expected to maintain sanitary, attractive, and orderly conditions and promote Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy.

Xanitos provides hospital housekeeping, patient transport, central laundry, and patient observation services. The company describes its patented XRO System for cleaning patient rooms and its focus on service quality and operational results.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Strong leadership skills and experience leading and managing a team.
• Customer-service-minded approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong service and quality attitude.
• Flexibility to work some differing shifts.
• Proficiency with Windows-based office software.

• College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in staff selection and interview candidates as needed.
• Schedule days off, holidays, and vacations while meeting account needs and position-control requirements.
• Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and manage materials inventory and general-use equipment.
• Ensure staff receive proper orientation, initial training, and ongoing education.
• Provide individual guidance and motivation to help staff perform to their fullest potential.
• Discipline associates when necessary in accordance with progressive disciplinary guidelines.
• Prepare associate disciplinary and variance reports, conduct follow-up investigations as needed, and report findings to the Department Director.
• Prepare disciplinary action notices and conduct follow-up as required.
• Conduct disciplinary meetings with associates with guidance from the Department Director.
• Maintain sanitary, attractive, and orderly conditions.
• Demonstrate and promote Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy.
• Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
• Serve as a liaison between hospital departments and the Environmental Services department.
