About The Position

Xanitos is seeking an EVS Manager for the second shift at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The manager oversees Environmental Services associates under the oversight of the Unit Director and serves as a liaison between hospital departments and Environmental Services to provide a high level of service. The role includes coordinating staffing and daily assignments, maintaining quality and inventory, training and supporting associates, and helping keep the hospital environment sanitary, attractive, and orderly.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Strong leadership skills and experience leading and managing a team.
• Customer-service-minded approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong service and quality attitude.
• Proficiency with Windows-based office software.
• Flexibility to work some differing shifts.

• College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in staff selection and interview candidates as needed.
• Schedule days off, holidays, and vacations while meeting account needs and hours and position-control requirements.
• Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and manage materials inventory and general-use equipment.
• Ensure staff receives proper orientation, initial training, and ongoing education.
• Provide individual guidance and motivation to help associates perform to their potential.
• Discipline associates when necessary according to progressive disciplinary guidelines.
• Prepare associate disciplinary and variance reports, conduct follow-up investigations as needed, and report findings to the Department Director.
• Prepare disciplinary action notices and conduct follow-up as required.
• Conduct disciplinary meetings with associates with guidance from the Department Director.
• Maintain an environment that is sanitary, attractive, and orderly.
• Demonstrate and promote Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy.
• Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
• Serve as a liaison between hospital departments and the Environmental Services department.
