About The Position

Xanitos is seeking an Environmental Services Manager for the 2nd shift at Garfield Medical Center in Monterey Park, California. The manager leads associates in the Environmental Services department under the oversight of the Unit Director and serves as a liaison between hospital departments and Environmental Services to provide a high level of service. The role requires healthcare EVS experience and bilingual English/Spanish skills. The manager oversees staffing, scheduling, assignments, quality assurance, inventory, equipment use, staff training and development, and associate performance and discipline. The position also promotes Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy and helps maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment. Healthcare employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment, unless a legally required medical or religious exception applies. Employees must report their vaccination status and upload proof through a secure online portal. The expected salary range is $70,000 to $75,000, depending on relevant qualifications and other factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission, if applicable. Requirements

Healthcare EVS experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
High school diploma.
Strong leadership skills and experience leading and managing a team.
Customer-service-minded approach and strong service/quality attitude.
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency with Windows-based office software.
Flexibility to work some differing shifts.
Must meet the stated COVID-19 vaccination requirement for healthcare employees, subject to legally required medical or religious exceptions, and report vaccination status and upload proof.

Responsibilities

Participate in staff selection and interview candidates as needed.
Schedule days off, holidays, and vacations while meeting account needs and position-control requirements.
Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties.
Conduct quality assurance checks and manage materials inventory and general equipment use.
Ensure staff receive proper orientation, initial training, and ongoing education.
Provide individual guidance and motivation to help staff perform to their fullest potential.
Discipline associates when necessary, following progressive disciplinary guidelines.
Prepare associate disciplinary and variance reports, conduct follow-up investigations as needed, and report findings to the Department Director.
Prepare disciplinary action notices and conduct follow-up as required.
Conduct disciplinary meetings with associates with guidance from the Department Director.
Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment.
Demonstrate and promote Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy.
Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
Serve as a liaison between hospital departments and Environmental Services.
