About The Position

BOS Security is reviewing resumes for a part-time event security officer position in the Atlanta area. The officer will work events at Fernbank Science Center, which occur monthly or bimonthly, generally after 5 PM on weekdays and weekends. Shifts last 4–8 hours and may take place any day of the week, including weekends. The role involves maintaining a visible security presence, patrolling event areas on foot, supporting crowd control, and carrying out assigned post instructions.

Requirements

Stable work history.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check; the position is subject to random drug testing.
Smartphone.
Valid driver's license and personal working transportation; drop-offs and public transportation are not accepted.
Ability to travel 50 miles one way to work.
Clean driving history.

Responsibilities

Be trained and qualified to work the assigned post.
Understand and follow the specific and general post instructions for the assigned post.
Know and follow additional and emergency post instructions required by the client.
Patrol the event on foot throughout the shift and maintain a visible presence for the duration of the event.
Patrol buildings and grounds on foot.
Work crowd control and maintain order during large events.
Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine whether they are secure.
Warn violators of rule infractions and apprehend or expel people engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspect equipment and machinery for signs of tampering.
Watch for and report irregularities, including fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of client property.
Permit authorized people to enter the property.
Perform other duties as assigned.
