The Event Host plans, coordinates, and facilitates events—including children’s birthday parties and craft classes—at a Michaels store, creating a fun, engaging, and low-stress experience for guests. The role demonstrates and teaches craft projects, performs face painting and other activities, manages event add-ons, communicates with clients and store team members, and adapts plans to client feedback. It also includes event administration, setup, cleanup, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards. In addition to event duties, the Event Host supports the store’s customer experience and daily operations. This includes helping customers find products and solutions, providing friendly checkout, promoting Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, supporting online order processes, and assisting with truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and store cleanliness. Team members are cross-trained in Custom Framing sales and production and may perform other duties as assigned. The position is based in a public retail store. Public areas are climate controlled, while some stock rooms may not be. Some outdoor work may be required for cart retrieval or truck unloading. The frame shop contains a glass cutter and heat press. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Michaels provides benefits that vary by position and eligibility, along with employee discounts and partner discount programs.
