About The Position

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, provides catering for corporate functions, weddings, and social events throughout the greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. The Event Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, supports bar setup and cleanup, and assists with event breakdown. Event work is seasonal, and the number of available shifts varies by time of year. Scheduling is flexible, making the role suitable for someone seeking occasional shifts or a second job.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of bartending experience.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Ability to bend, twist, lift at least 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.

• Bartending experience in a catering or banquet setting.

Responsibilities

• Review the event worksheet before arriving and become familiar with the event, timeline, bar type, and food.
• Check in with the Event Captain or Co-Captain upon arrival and departure.
• Help unload the Groovin' Gourmets vehicle and set up the bar area and appropriate glassware.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; answer guest questions about ingredients and suggest beverages and cocktails.
• Verify that guests served alcohol are of legal drinking age.
• For cash-bar events, accept cash or credit payments using the Square app.
• Clean up the bar area after the event and pack beer and wine into the appropriate boxes.
• Assist with general event breakdown, ensuring no food, plates, beverages, or other debris are left behind and rentals are neatly stacked in the appropriate location.
