About The Position

The Event Associate provides thoughtful product recommendations suited to each athlete’s skill and experience level and supports the Field/Lead Coach with in-store sport events, both on and off the field. The role may also assist with DICK’S-sponsored camps, clinics, and programs, bringing sports passion and expertise to the experiential store. The associate helps create a safe, engaging, athlete-first experience and supports community partnerships, programming, teammate training, and store promotions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive a high level of customer service and help ensure teammates deliver hassle-free, engaging, athlete-first service aligned with DICK’S common purpose.
• Assist the Field Lead/Coach with field programming and encourage athletes to participate safely and have fun.
• Build relationships with local schools, community organizations, sports leagues, and home school organizations to develop partnerships and field events.
• Work with the Community Team to bring clinics, camps, and afterschool programming to the Field.
• Assist with teammate training and coaching, including one-on-one conversations, group training sessions, and role-play exercises.
• Adjust priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Adhere to loss prevention standards.
• Promote company programs, including warranty sales, Scorecard, private-label credit cards, and seasonal promotions.
• Provide consultative product advice and demonstrate excellent product knowledge.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
