About The Position

The Espresso Clerk/Barista works in The Corner Store, a takeout food and beverage outlet primarily serving on-site guests seeking breakfast and to-go items. The store also sells apparel and gifts. The position combines preparing coffee and espresso beverages with retail sales clerk duties, requiring precision in beverage preparation.

During each shift, the Barista is responsible for the guest experience, including guest interactions, efficient service and checkout, store cleanliness and sanitation, and merchandise fulfillment and display. Duties are performed in an internal customer-driven company manner. The position starts part-time and progresses to full-time for the summer.

Requirements

• Ability to take direction and follow fixed processes, procedures, and policies.
• Guest-friendly, customer-service orientation.
• Proficiency with basic typing, computer programs, and communication devices.
• Ability to bend, squat, lift 40 pounds to waist height, climb stairs, and stand for long periods.
• Ability to meet and maintain Land’s End dress code and personal conduct policies.
• Ability to operate the POS system and be accountable for all cash and credit card sales during the shift.
• Previous experience or equivalent training in high-volume, full-service operations.

Nice To Haves

• Training and proficiency as a Chartroom hostess or server is highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Help the team fulfill Land’s End’s mission to “Bring Joy to Our Customers Every Day.”
• Prepare and dispense coffee and non-alcoholic beverages for internal and external customers.
• Coordinate daily and weekly priorities with the Corner Store Supervisor or Manager.
• Greet customers promptly and courteously within 15 seconds of their arrival.
• Reconcile shift revenues, assemble shift deposits, and prepare the following shift’s bank.
• Maintain and stock gift shop items and advise the manager of needed products and inventory.
• Maintain and clean the counter area, product displays, espresso machine, and shop area.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Corner Store products and pricing.
• Perform side work and other duties as requested by the Restaurant Manager.
• Training and proficiency as a Chartroom hostess or server is highly encouraged.
