About The Position

Join Corewell Health’s Nutrition Services team and support patient meal service. Duties include preparing and assembling food and patient trays, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing dishes and equipment, delivering and retrieving meal carts, and maintaining stock. Team members communicate and collaborate to ensure continuity of service and a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn new skills and develop a career.

The position is part-time at Ludington Hospital. The posted schedule lists day shift hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with every other weekend. Weekly scheduled hours are listed as 0.04.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain serving lines, including dishes, silverware, hot and cold foods, and condiments; prepare cold food items and store, refrigerate, and date food and supplies appropriately.
• Serve food, replenish items as needed, and clean food stations after use.
• Set up and operate cash register and cash-handling equipment; collect payments, balance the register, record totals, and deposit money appropriately.
• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans, utensils, equipment, and department areas; operate the dishwasher and mechanical floor cleaner; store clean equipment orderly and transport refuse safely.
• Set up, deliver, retrieve, and return food carts; strip patient and cafeteria trays and sort soiled equipment for cleaning.
• Assemble patient trays according to established standards and dietary requirements, and deliver them to the correct patients after verifying identifying information.
• Participate in quality monitoring, including taking and recording food, refrigeration, and dish-machine temperatures.
• Assist with the care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment, and supplies, and report malfunctions to management.
