About The Position

As an Environmental Services Associate Technician with Corewell Health, you help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. The role involves communicating and collaborating with team members to coordinate services and foster a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn and develop new skills. The position is casual, part time, and has variable days and hours. Work may span department sites as needed for coverage and business needs.

• Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating through the hospital.
• Work fully within one cleaning area and, when needed, across department sites for coverage and business needs.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigation measures, and complete position- and unit-related safety competencies and requirements on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
