Engineering Technologist 3 (4021)

Navarro Inc.•Los Alamos, NM

About The Position

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking an experienced mechanical designer to join the W93 Systems Development and Realization group in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The role focuses on checking design definition and requires expertise in 3D computer-aided design (CAD), hardware design and fabrication, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and engineering concepts. The technologist may guide multidisciplinary teams through design iterations to identify and address potential engineering defects. Work involves complex or unique technical solutions requiring ingenuity, creativity, and independence, with completed work expected to meet expert standards without appreciable direction. The role may also include mentoring junior staff in models-based definition (MBD) and GD&T. The W93/Mk7 Systems Development and Realization Group defines, develops, and fields the warhead system for a new Navy submarine-launched ballistic missile program. The group supports DoD/Navy SSP and DoE/NNSA customers in defining mission needs and technical and programmatic requirements, collaborates with Sandia National Laboratories and Lockheed Martin Space, and works with production agency teams throughout design, qualification, and realization. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, science, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution and eight years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract and/or clearance requirements. Navarro offers medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) retirement plan; life insurance; paid time off and public holidays; and short- and long-term disability coverage.
