About The Position
Inova Fairfax Hospital is hiring a full-time Surgical Technologist 3 for its Operating Room. The position is a day-shift role for an experienced surgical technologist, with experience in Trauma, Neuro, Orthopedics, and Robotics highlighted. Sign-on bonus and relocation are available. The Surgical Technologist 3 helps maintain safety and support the flow of operating room procedures, including responding to unexpected events and emergency situations. The role also includes professional development, participation in departmental goals and quality improvement, and leadership responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of surgical technologist experience.
- Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of Virginia.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) certification through NCCT.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon start.
Nice To Haves
- Surgical Technologist experience in Orthopedics, Trauma, Neuro, Robotics, Vascular, or Thoracic.
Responsibilities
- Recognize safety hazards and initiate appropriate preventative and corrective actions.
- Anticipate the need for unscheduled procedures or unexpected events during surgical procedures.
- Demonstrate superior knowledge in stressful and emergency situations.
- Support the flow of the daily operating room schedule by accepting assignments and reassignments.
- Demonstrate awareness of and commitment to professional and leadership responsibilities.
- Accept responsibility for judgments and actions.
- Support and participate in departmental goals, educational programs, and quality improvement processes.
- Document at least 40 hours of self-development activities, including a minimum of 12 formal contact hours.
