About The Position

Inova Fairfax Hospital Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 3 to join its team. This is a full-time position with varied night shifts. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of Surgical Technologist experience.
Registered Surgical Technologist licensure in the state of Virginia.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery–Certified (TS-C) certification through NCCT.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon start.

Nice To Haves

Level one trauma experience.
Surgical Technologist experience in orthopedics, trauma, neurology, robotics, or vascular surgery.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate advanced knowledge and practice in the first scrub role.
Apply advanced knowledge of anatomy and anticipate the instrumentation required at each step of a surgical procedure.
Help expedite operative procedures by anticipating the surgeon’s needs.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques.
Precept new and experienced staff in the scrub role.
Use powered instrumentation, video equipment, microscopes, and complex instrumentation and equipment.
Assist in evaluating new products and equipment.
