About the position
As an Engineering Manager I at Accurx, your primary focus will be creating an environment in which engineers can thrive and grow. You will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers, helping them successfully onboard and progress in their careers. Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization and instilling the Accurx values into the engineering culture will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will be involved in collaborative projects, contribute to the hiring process, and work towards improving processes within the engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Onboarding: Responsible for helping engineers successfully integrate into the company and complete their probation period
- Performance and progression: Regularly hold 1:1s and goal setting conversations with direct reports, coaching them and providing feedback on their performance and areas of improvement
- Stakeholder relationships: Build solid relationships with stakeholders across the organization to support the engineers, including Tech Leads, Product Managers, Talent partners, People team, and VP Engineering
- Engineering culture: Help instill the Accurx values into everything the engineering organization does, act as a role model, and maintain a strong sense of belonging across the whole engineering organization
- Projects: Involved in collaborative projects with the Engineering Manager team to help scale the engineering organization, such as running hackathons, iterating on the career framework, and representing the Accurx brand and community through blogs and events
- Interviewing: Play a crucial role in the hiring processes by participating in interviews and scaling the processes to attract a diverse talent pool
Requirements
- Experience managing multiple engineers
- Ability to coach engineers and help them set and track objectives
- Proficiency in providing insightful performance reviews
- Passion for improving processes within the engineering or product organization
- Ability to leverage data and feedback in decision making
