About the position
As an Engineering Manager II at Accurx, your main focus will be creating an environment that fosters the growth and development of software engineers. You will be responsible for managing a team of 8-10 engineers across multiple teams and levels. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving improvements to processes, culture, and management practices within the organization. Your responsibilities will include performance and progression management, building strong stakeholder relationships, enhancing organizational effectiveness, promoting engineering culture, leading projects, participating in hiring processes, and facilitating successful onboarding of new engineers.
Responsibilities
- Regularly hold 1:1s and have goal setting conversations with direct reports
- Coach and provide feedback to direct reports using the Career Progression Framework, bi-annual performance reviews, and regular ad hoc feedback
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including Tech Leadership, Product Managers, Talent partners, People team, and VP Engineering
- Work with stakeholders and engineers to understand where the engineering organization needs support and make improvements where necessary
- Help instill the Accurx values into everything the engineering organization does
- Identify and lead projects that help the engineering organization scale and improve effectiveness
- Participate in interviews and make hiring decisions
- Support engineers in successfully onboarding and completing their probation period
Requirements
- Experience managing multiple engineers
- Ability to coach engineers and help them set and track objectives
- Proficiency in providing insightful performance reviews
- Passion for improving processes within the engineering or product organization
