About the position
As an Engineering Manager II at Accurx, your role will be to create an environment that fosters the growth and development of software engineers. You will be responsible for managing a team of 8-10 engineers across multiple teams and levels. Additionally, you will drive improvements in processes, culture, and management practices. Your focus will include performance and progression, stakeholder relationships, organizational effectiveness, engineering culture, projects, interviewing, and onboarding. This role offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on the Engineering Management team and contribute to the scaling and effectiveness of the engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Performance and progression: Regularly hold 1:1s and have goal setting conversations with direct reports, coaching them and helping them understand their performance and areas of improvement.
- Stakeholder relationships: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including Tech Leadership, Product Managers, Talent partners, People team, and VP Engineering, to support the engineers and the engineering and product organization.
- Organizational effectiveness: Work with stakeholders and engineers to understand where the engineering organization needs support and help teams make necessary improvements. Facilitate staffing needs of teams.
- Engineering culture: Instill Accurx values into everything the engineering organization does. Be a role model and maintain a strong sense of belonging across the whole engineering organization.
- Projects: Identify and lead projects that help the engineering organization scale and get the best out of engineers at all levels. Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to improve the organization's health and effectiveness.
- Interviewing: Participate in interviews, make hiring decisions, and scale processes to attract a diverse talent pool.
- Onboarding: Help engineers successfully land into the company and complete their probation period to become productive members of their team.
Requirements
- Experience managing multiple engineers
- Ability to coach engineers and help them set and track objectives
- Passion for improving processes within the engineering or product organization
