About The Position
The Engineer is responsible for upkeep, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other general maintenance needs in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. The ideal applicant is customer service oriented and willing to go the extra mile to make the guest experience memorable. The role requires a strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units, along with basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures. The position is full time with benefits. A flexible schedule is required, and evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be needed.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience, preferably in a hotel.
- Strong background in commercial refrigeration.
- Knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units.
- Basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment critical to building operations and proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet work-assignment deadlines.
- Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and general maintenance in accordance with hotel and franchise standards.
- Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain quality and cleanliness standards throughout daily assignments.
- Observe house and safety rules, departmental procedures, and security procedures.
- Assist with inventories as scheduled.
- Follow the maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
