About The Position

The Food Runner works in the hotel's full-service restaurant, partnering with servers and guests to help provide a seamless dining experience. The role includes delivering food and beverages, assisting with menu presentation and guest questions, checking order accuracy and presentation, preparing condiments and sides, and helping maintain clean, orderly service and kitchen areas. The position may also involve assisting with bar stocking and product delivery, Gift Shop stocking and rotation, and storeroom product maintenance. The hotel encourages cross-departmental training and associate development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong multitasking and communication skills.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and comply with responsible alcohol service standards.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain a professional appearance.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, and perform other movements for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel or resort, or private club.
• Certification in liquor, wine, and food service, including Alcohol Awareness.

Responsibilities

• Address guests by name, observe and respond to their requests, and ensure service is complete.
• Assist servers with presenting menus, answering questions, and making food and beverage suggestions.
• Prepare baskets with condiments and sides; confirm orders are accurate and presentable; and serve orders to guests.
• Monitor supplies, maintain stock, and keep kitchen and café areas clean and orderly.
• Help servers keep service areas tidy and collect and maintain baskets.
• Relay kitchen times to servers and management.
• Stay informed about the menu, drinks, specials, and unavailable items.
• Complete daily and weekly checklists and perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist with delivering product to the bar and stocking it for the bartender.
• Assist with stocking and rotating Gift Shop products.
• Help maintain product in storerooms.
