About The Position
The Engineer is responsible for upkeep, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other general maintenance needs, in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. The role requires a strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units, as well as basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures. The ideal applicant is customer-service-oriented and willing to go the extra mile to make the guest experience memorable. This is a full-time position with benefits; evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience, preferably in a hotel; franchised hotel experience is a plus.
- Strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units.
- Basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment critical to building operations and proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for work assignments.
- Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other building equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and general maintenance in accordance with company and franchise standards.
- Handle guest complaints and work to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain quality and cleanliness standards during daily assignments.
- Follow maintenance programs and cleaning schedules.
- Observe house, safety, departmental, and security rules and procedures.
- Assist with inventories as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
