About The Position

The Emerging Store Manager (ESM) is a developmental leadership assignment intended to prepare associates for potential Store Manager opportunities in Walmart US store operations. The assignment is expected to last no longer than 12 to 18 months, but does not guarantee a Store Manager position or a specific progression timeline. Associates are expected to maintain mobility within their assigned region for Store Manager applications and potential placement. Progression depends on performance and business needs; if a Store Manager position is not secured within the expected timeframe, placement into another role at a different level may be considered. The ESM trains and develops across retail operations, people leadership, merchandising, financial management, customer experience, and community engagement. The role supports store financial performance, sales, staffing, talent development, customer service, community relationships, safety, asset protection, and execution of business plans. It also supports the store management team, promotes company policies and values, and provides supervision and development opportunities for associates. The position is based at 5025 Winters Chapel Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30360. The annual salary range is $65,000 to $110,000, with additional annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Certain positions may also receive regional pay zone or complex-structure compensation. Walmart offers health, financial, paid-time-off, and other benefits; eligibility and terms may depend on job classification and length of employment.
