About The Position

The Education Champion – ELA Tutor provides English Language Arts support to 6th-grade students. The tutor delivers individualized and small-group instruction to help students strengthen literacy skills, including reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking, while building confidence in their academic performance. Instruction should be engaging, student-centered, and tailored to students’ academic needs. The tutor collaborates with school staff and fellow educators to support student success and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

The program schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The role offers $27–$30 per hour and the opportunity to earn a program completion bonus of up to 10% of total program earnings. Hands-on tutoring experience and ongoing training support professional growth.

Requirements

• Be a bilingual Spanish speaker.
• Be a degree-seeking student or graduate.
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Have a genuine commitment to supporting students’ academic growth and personal development.
• Be willing to collaborate with school staff and fellow tutors.

Responsibilities

• Provide English Language Arts support to 6th-grade students.
• Deliver individualized and small-group ELA instruction.
• Help students develop reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary, and critical-thinking skills.
• Build students’ confidence in their academic performance.
• Tailor engaging, student-centered learning experiences to students’ academic needs.
• Collaborate with school staff and fellow tutors or educators to support student success.
