About The Position

PRACTICE is seeking motivated, dependable, bilingual English/Spanish individuals to provide in-person English Language Arts tutoring. This entry-level opportunity is suited to college students, recent graduates, or others interested in gaining classroom experience while helping scholars develop literacy, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Education Champions collaborate with classroom teachers to provide academic support in English and Spanish.

Tutoring takes place Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, subject to school program needs and the tutor’s availability. Compensation is $27–$30 per hour, with the opportunity to earn a completion bonus of up to 10% of total program earnings, subject to eligibility requirements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to communicate and explain academic concepts in both languages.
• Interest in working with scholars and supporting their academic development.
• Availability to work at least three weekdays per week during school hours.
• Dependability, professionalism, and commitment to an agreed-upon program schedule.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and collaborate with educators.

Nice To Haves

• Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth-development experience is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group tutoring in English Language Arts.
• Support scholars in developing reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and literacy skills.
• Explain academic concepts in English and Spanish to support multilingual learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce lessons and address individual learning needs.
• Foster an inclusive, encouraging environment that builds scholar confidence and academic growth.
• Maintain consistent attendance, professionalism, and communication throughout the program.
