About The Position

MTM Transit, in partnership with the City of Tracy, is hiring full-time CDL Drivers in Tracy, California. Drivers provide safe, reliable transportation and personalized service to passengers, including older adults and individuals with disabilities. Training classes start every couple of weeks, and paid training is provided. The role includes passenger assistance, vehicle inspections, required paperwork, and use of electronic devices. The listed hourly rate is $27.00.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Valid California Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements.
No more than 6 points on driving record within the last 4 years.
No misdemeanor convictions.
No DWI/DUI convictions.
No failure-to-appear charges.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
Ability to pass a criminal background investigation and Motor Vehicle Record check.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years of work history.
Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations.
Familiarity with main roadways and major highways in the service area.

Responsibilities

Provide safe and reliable transportation.
Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist passengers with loading and unloading from the vehicle.
Assist with mobility devices and securement as required by safety protocols.
Ensure on-time customer pickup and drop-off.
Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Complete required thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections.
Complete required paperwork.
Use tablets or other electronic devices as required.
