DSP. Tracy or Hammer

United Cerebral Palsy Associations Inc•Stockton, CA

About The Position

Under the direct supervision of program management, the Instructional Assistant provides functional-skills instruction and personal care to adults with developmental and physical disabilities in a behavior management program. Track 2 staff perform all Track 1 (DSP Worker) duties, with behavior-program responsibilities added. Level I is the entry level: the employee completes orientation and required training, including the RBT 40-hour course and ProAct, and implements behavior-plan activities under direction. The employee works at the Tracy Adult Development Center and Hammer Ranch and may be assigned to other UCPSJ program sites. The Program Manager supervises the employee and is responsible for scheduling, direction, evaluation, discipline, and level placement. A contracted BCBA provides clinical direction and oversight for behavior plans; the employee follows that direction and reports behavior data and observations to the BCBA. The BCBA is not the employee's supervisor and has no personnel authority. This is a non-exempt, at-will position. It requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid California Class C driver's license, a clean driving record, current personal auto insurance, First Aid/CPR certification, and UCPSJ Safe Client Transfer Protocol certification. Lifting, transferring, repositioning, and hands-on personal care are essential functions. Full client lifts and transfers are performed by two staff using approved techniques and equipment. Until certified, the employee may not perform client lifts or transfers and is assigned other duties while training. Continued employment is conditional on required background, health, and screening clearances. Work takes place in adult day program settings, classrooms, multipurpose areas, community-based settings, vehicles, and outdoor spaces. The employee may encounter challenging behavior, elevated noise, bodily fluids, and medical events such as seizures. The role requires following safety, infection-control, bloodborne-pathogen, emergency, and UCPSJ protocols.
