About The Position

The Door Host/Hostess provides a high-quality guest experience during live shows according to Improv standards. The role manages the entrance before, during, and after performances; checks identification for age restrictions and liquor-law compliance; welcomes guests and seats them according to the seating process; and ensures the club is appropriately seated for each event. During shows, the Door Host monitors the showroom to discourage talking, heckling, photography, and cell-phone recording. The role also helps limit issues and liability related to excessive drinking, assists management with removing unruly guests, and encourages intoxicated patrons to stop drinking or arrange transportation. The Door Host assists fellow team members as needed and performs other assigned duties. This is a part-time position with pay starting at $17 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college.
• At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant or club environment.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD certificate, in compliance with county or state requirements.
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and accommodate scheduling needs and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entrance before, during, and after performances.
• Check guests’ age identification to ensure compliance with show age restrictions and state liquor laws.
• Greet guests and seat them at tables according to the seating process.
• Ensure the club is seated appropriately for each event.
• Monitor the showroom during shows to prevent talking, heckling, photography, and cell-phone recording.
• Help limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking.
• Assist management with removing unruly guests from the showroom.
• Encourage customers to stop drinking or arrange transportation for intoxicated patrons.
• Assist fellow team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
