About The Position

The Ontario Improv is seeking a Door Host/Hostess to provide a high-quality guest experience during live shows in accordance with Improv standards. The role manages the entrance before, during, and after performances; greets and seats guests; monitors the showroom during shows; and helps ensure guest safety and compliance with age restrictions and state liquor laws. The Door Host also assists management and fellow team members as needed and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college.
• At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant or club environment.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD Certificate, in accordance with county or state requirements.
• Friendly and outgoing, with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, accommodating scheduling needs and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entrance before, during, and after performances.
• Check age identification to ensure compliance with show age restrictions and state liquor laws.
• Greet guests and seat them at tables according to the seating process.
• Ensure the club is seated appropriately for each event.
• Monitor the showroom during shows to prevent talking, heckling, photography, and recording on cell phones.
• Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking.
• Assist management with removing unruly guests from the showroom.
• Persuade customers to stop drinking or arrange transportation for intoxicated patrons.
• Assist fellow team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
