About The Position

The Chicago Improv is seeking a part-time Door Host/Hostess to provide a high-quality guest experience during live shows in accordance with Improv standards. The role includes managing guest entry and seating, supporting a safe and enjoyable showroom environment, and assisting fellow team members. The position requires availability Thursday through Sunday and pays from $16 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college.
• 1–3 years of experience in a restaurant or club environment.
• Friendly and outgoing, with excellent communication skills.
• Availability Thursday through Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entrance before, during, and after performances.
• Check guests’ age identification to ensure compliance with show age restrictions and state liquor laws.
• Greet guests and seat them at tables according to the seating process.
• Ensure the club is seated appropriately for each event.
• Monitor the showroom during shows to prevent talking, heckling, photography, and cell-phone recording.
• Help limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking.
• Assist management with removing unruly guests from the showroom.
• Encourage customers to stop drinking or arrange transportation for intoxicated patrons.
• Assist fellow team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
