About The Position

The Door Attendant is the hotel’s first point of contact and helps create memorable guest experiences. The role welcomes arriving and departing guests, assists with transportation and luggage, answers questions about the hotel and local area, and maintains a clean and organized entrance. The attendant must be familiar with emergency procedures and assist guests during emergencies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
Communicate effectively with guests, supervisors, coworkers, and the public, adapting communication style to different audiences.
Have sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to grasp, lift, carry, load, and unload packages, boxes, and luggage weighing up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Knowledge of the hotel and the city.

Hotel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Open vehicle and hotel doors and greet arriving and departing guests.
Hail taxis as needed.
Answer guest questions and provide information about local attractions, events, and hotel activities.
Recognize and greet VIP and repeat guests by name.
Sweep and mop the floor and outside door area daily to maintain a clean, organized appearance.
Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, including guest responsibilities and evacuation procedures, and assist in emergencies.
Perform check-in and check-out calls, handle luggage, and frequently escort guests between the front door and front desk.
Comply with attendance rules and maintain regular availability for work.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
