About The Position

The Donation Attendant accepts qualified donations at the designated store donation area and provides a positive donor experience through customer service, careful handling of donations, and education about the organization’s mission. The role also supports donation processing, product flow, store cleanliness, safety, and store operations.

Requirements

Reliable transportation.
Must successfully pass criminal background screening.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional donor service, including greeting donors within 10 seconds, evaluating donations, politely declining items on the do-not-accept list, assisting donors, handling donations with care, and maintaining an organized and clean donation area.
Obtain manager approval before declining items that are not on the do-not-accept list.
Accurately track donations according to established standards.
Encourage donors to complete feedback surveys as required.
Sort donations into textile or hard goods categories according to guidelines, disposing only of obvious trash.
Maintain efficient product flow in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Represent Goodwill as an ambassador by demonstrating HGI values and providing excellent service in all interactions.
Help maintain store and donation-area cleanliness by picking up trash, sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trash cans, and keeping hangers and racks orderly.
Assist production associates with material-handling needs.
Follow required safety and security procedures, including using protective equipment.
Comply with company and store policies and procedures, including opening and closing tasks and timely, accurate completion of required paperwork.
Participate in training, including cross-training for other store positions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
