About The Position

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program supporting men and women as they complete rehabilitation. The Donation Attendant joins the Retail Team at the Santee Thrift Store, which supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program, and helps maintain a positive donor experience and the success of the program. The role involves receiving donated items, keeping the donation area clean and secure, sorting donations, maintaining records, and assisting with loading donations. The position pays $16.90 per hour. Store operations run seven days a week, and management determines schedules. Full-time associates may be scheduled for any full-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Must pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry checks.
Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean the area in and around the donation trailer or pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
Receive donated items from donors and provide receipts.
Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor.
Separate and sort donated materials into the proper containers and stack materials as instructed by the Supervisor.
Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
Inform the Supervisor when supplies such as brooms, receipts, totes, or carts are needed before they run out.
Secure and lock the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift.
