About The Position

The Donation Attendant works at The Salvation Army’s Santee Thrift Store, which supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program. The role helps provide a positive experience for donors and contributes to the store’s operations and the success of the program. Duties include maintaining the donation area, receiving and sorting donated items, keeping required paperwork, assisting with loading donations, and securing the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Must pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry checks.
Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean the area in and around the donation trailer or pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
Receive donated items from donors and provide receipts.
Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor.
Separate and sort donated materials into the proper containers and stack materials as instructed by the Supervisor.
Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
Inform the Supervisor when supplies such as brooms, receipts, totes, or carts are running low.
Secure and lock the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift.
