Domestic Shipping Specialist
About The Position
Balanced Body is seeking a detail-oriented Domestic Shipping Specialist to join its Warehouse team. The role serves as a key link between Sales and domestic carriers, managing shipments and supporting accurate, timely customer delivery. The position requires domestic shipping experience, particularly with freight quotes and shipping documentation, as well as consistency, organization, and attention to detail. The specialist executes order fulfillment, prepares shipment records and domestic shipping documents, coordinates freight and carrier pickups, tracks shipments, and helps resolve delays. The role also supports Sales and Warehouse coordinators with quotes and shipment tracking, responds to shipment questions by phone and email, coordinates with manufacturing team members, and maintains a safe, organized shipping area in accordance with company policies. This is a Monday-to-Friday position with expected hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime may be expected. The role requires standing for the entire shift and lifting, pulling, or pushing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of shipping and receiving experience.
- Domestic freight experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interactive communication skills.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience using FedEx, UPS, and other shipping tools.
- Knowledge of MS Dynamics 365 and/or Business Central.
- Knowledge of RF scanners.
Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for carrier pickup, and load trucks.
- Record shipment information and prepare domestic shipping documents.
- Process freight quotes and arrange pickup and loading dates with carriers.
- Trace shipments and help resolve carrier delays alongside Shipping Coordinators.
- Support Sales as a point of contact for freight quotes and shipment tracking, partnering with Warehouse coordinators.
- Answer shipment-related questions by phone and email.
- Coordinate with manufacturing supervisors and team members.
- Keep the shipping area safe and organized and comply with safety and company policies.
