About The Position

Bay Area Pet Pals is hiring dependable Dog Walkers & Pet Sitters to build new routes between Burlingame and Palo Alto. This is a paid-per-visit employee position. While the role starts with potentially few visits per week, the company aims to build a regular, consistent route over several weeks or months. The amount of work and income can fluctuate based on client needs and demand. This position is ideal for those seeking long-term, part-time work and who are comfortable with the time it takes to build a route. The job involves providing dog walks and in-home pet care for clients in various Peninsula locations, including Burlingame, San Mateo, Foster City, Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto. Routes can include dogs of all breeds and sizes, as well as cats and other pets. Weekday visits typically occur between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with additional morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work available for those interested. Bay Area Pet Pals is a local, family-owned pet care company with over 17 years of experience.

Requirements

Extremely reliable and responsible.
Truly love animals.
Enjoy being outdoors and staying active.
Comfortable walking and handling dogs of different sizes.
Live in or near one of the service areas (Burlingame to Palo Alto).
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Able to pass a background check.
Own a reliable vehicle.
Possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Have a smartphone with data for scheduling, navigation, photos, and client updates.
Consistently available Monday–Friday during at least the 10:00 AM–3:00 PM timeframe.
Willing to work partial days on some major holidays when needed.
Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
Have reliable, consistent weekly availability.
Looking for a long-term position.
Able to commit to at least one year.

Responsibilities

Provide dog walks and in-home pet care for clients.
Serve clients in areas including Burlingame, San Mateo, Foster City, Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto.
Walk and handle dogs of different breeds and sizes.
Care for cats and other pets.
Perform weekday dog walks and pet visits typically between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Be available for additional morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work if desired.
Adjust visits for major rain and high heat conditions.
Stay focused on the dogs during walks, prioritizing safety.
