About The Position

Pup Culture is hiring reliable, responsible animal-lovers to provide dog walking and pet sitting in its Twin Cities service area. The role involves individualized dog walks, adventure hikes, and cat sitting, with work performed independently after initial and ongoing training. A new dog walker typically begins with a couple of walks per day, with the opportunity to grow based on performance and experience. Visits are often back-to-back and must be completed within specific time frames. The position is part-time and suited to someone available during weekdays who enjoys spending time outdoors and exercising with animals. Pay begins at $16 per hour, with tips. The job requires walking multiple miles a day and working with energetic dogs in all weather.

Requirements

Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work independently and be resourceful.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong animal intuition and confidence around animals.
A genuine love of animals and patience when working with them.
Availability between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus one weekend per quarter.
Ability to make a long-term commitment.
Smartphone, computer, and internet access.
Access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
Residence in or near the service area.
Flexible schedule.
Ability to walk in all weather.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Clean driving record.
Ability to walk multiple miles a day and work with energetic dogs in all weather.

Responsibilities

Walk dogs and provide pet-sitting visits, including cat sitting.
Complete multiple visits per day, often back-to-back and within required time frames.
Communicate clearly with clients and staff through written updates and verbal communication.
Work independently and use resourcefulness while caring for animals.
Provide safe, individualized care to pets.
