About The Position
DMV is seeking to hire a NMVTIS Verification Specialist to be responsible for verifying vehicle title information through the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) in accordance with DMV policies. Performs accurate data entry and maintains detailed records using document imaging and retention systems to ensure compliance with title processing requirements. Conducts thorough research to identify and resolve title discrepancies and operational inefficiencies, while actively detecting and preventing fraudulent activity. Applies working knowledge of DMV operations and regulatory environments to support consistent and accurate title processing. Coordinates effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution of title-related matters. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. In addition, DMV serves a wide array of businesses, including dealers, fuels tax customers, rental companies, driving schools, other state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations. Requirements
- Knowledge of DMV policies related to NMVTIS and title processing.
- Strong research and organizational skills to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in data entry, recordkeeping, and DMV systems.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and prevent title fraud through thorough analysis.
- Must pass a fingerprint-based background check.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with no more than 6 demerit points and no major convictions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with NMVTIS operations or vehicle title processing.
- Familiarity with document imaging and retention systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills for addressing operational inefficiencies.
- Experience with DMV operations or similar regulatory environments.
