The District Shift Leader participates in a targeted General Manager development plan and is next in line to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when a position becomes available. The role performs management duties at a home location and supports other bakeries in the market as needed. District Shift Leaders lead to the General Manager standard when the General Manager is absent and are expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations and accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available; the specific location is not guaranteed. Shifts may begin as early as 3 a.m. for the first bake and store opening duties. The District Shift Leader leads by example, represents the brand, coaches and trains team members, and works across different roles to help ensure high-quality food and beverages and a safe, clean store. The development plan includes administrative training in inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, as well as preparation in P&L analysis, food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting. Stores close at 2 p.m., and the posting states employees will not work past 3 p.m. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The position is based at the Glastonbury, Connecticut location and may require travel to other bakeries in the market.
