The District Shift Leader participates in a targeted General Manager development plan and is being prepared to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when a position becomes available. The role performs management duties at a home location and supports other bakeries in the market as needed. The District Shift Leader leads to General Manager standards in the General Manager’s absence and is expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations and accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when one is available; the specific location is not guaranteed. Shifts may begin as early as 3 a.m. for baking and store-opening duties, and employees are not required to work past 3 p.m. The role leads by example, represents the brand, coaches and trains team members, and works across bakery roles to maintain food and beverage quality and a safe, clean store. Development-plan training includes administrative responsibilities and skills such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, cash management, P&L analysis, food-cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting.
