About The Position

The District Service Manager manages the organization, productivity, and assets of the Service and Field Department to maximize efficiency and profitability. The role supervises Foremen, Leadermen, Technicians, and administrative staff. The manager uses the established Service Department operating system, monitors departmental performance, supports customer service, and oversees staff development and safety activities.

Requirements

At least 3 years of previous supervisory experience with service and/or field personnel.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record under WPI insurance carrier standards.
Computer literacy and ability to work in a Windows-based environment, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Dependable and able to work independently.
Ability to maintain good client relations.
Ability to supervise, lead, and motivate others.
Ability to effectively evaluate others.

Nice To Haves

Trade school and/or some college preferred.

Responsibilities

Use the established Service Department management operating system for assigned work.
Measure productivity and increase output.
Develop and maintain a training program for Service and Field Department employees.
Establish goals for each shop and field activity and monitor performance monthly.
Meet at least monthly with the Regional Manager, Branch Manager, and Parts Manager to review activities, financial reports, problems, progress, and mutual needs.
Monitor customer needs and ensure requirements are met.
Ensure service requirements are met for equipment used in the territory.
Maintain close contact and good relations with customers, including onsite visits as needed.
Conduct a monthly safety meeting and complete required reports.
Provide timely and effective performance reviews to staff and plan equitable increases.
Perform other duties or functions as requested by management.
