About The Position

The District Manager builds successful, manager-led stores that meet key performance indicators and financial goals while supporting the company’s culture and core values. The role sets clear goals for each store, ensures Store Managers maintain documented plans to reach them, and follows through until results are sustained. District Managers are evaluated on the results of the stores in their district and coach, mentor, teach, train, and develop store leadership. At times, they may directly support store processes to ensure basic expectations are met. Long-term success means Store Managers can plan, lead teams, achieve goals, solve problems, and develop employees without constant intervention. The District Manager owns district business and financial performance, translates budgets into actionable goals, monitors store results, and reports metrics and improvement plans to leadership. The role visits stores on a planned rotation, assesses operational and compliance standards, coaches managers, and verifies completion of agreed actions. It also oversees staffing, leadership development, training, customer service, safety, and consistent application of company processes and values across the district. This is a field-based role with frequent travel between stores and occasional overnight travel for meetings or training. The schedule follows business needs and may include evenings and weekends. Work takes place in retail showrooms, backrooms, and warehouse areas. Compensation is up to $125,000 yearly, with monthly bonus potential.

Responsibilities

  • Own district results, including net profit, customers versus budget, weekly expected versus budget, percentage of rent collected, cost of goods sold, and payroll.

  • Hold Store Managers accountable for safe delivery practices, company vehicle care, required inspections, employee safety procedures, and prompt reporting and resolution of accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
  • Verify inventory accuracy, merchandise presentation, refurbishment of returned merchandise, and functioning equipment; coordinate with Operations on issues beyond the store’s control.
  • Coach, develop, and hold Store Managers accountable while maintaining their ownership of store results.

  • Partner with Store Managers and Human Resources on employee evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and employee concerns; ensure issues are promptly addressed, appropriately documented, and handled consistently.
  • Review turnover, staffing stability, and employee feedback with Store Managers and Human Resources, and hold managers accountable for actions that improve onboarding, engagement, development, and retention.
  • Ensure Store Managers conduct effective daily team meetings, communicate company priorities, recognize achievements, and provide regular developmental feedback.
  • Teach company processes, policies, and best practices to Store Managers and teams, confirm consistent application, and train managers to train their own staff.
  • Use store visits to demonstrate correct processes, track training and certification progress, verify learning is retained and applied, and roll out new or updated processes across stores.
  • Protect operational, customer-service, financial, and cultural standards; ensure growth does not compromise customer treatment, compliance, procedures, or core values.
  • Identify and document effective practices and replicate them across the district; diagnose root causes before intervening.
  • Monitor customer-service standards, support resolution of escalated concerns, and address recurring issues affecting customer satisfaction and retention.
